I’ve been very lucky that I have seen Regina Bonelli performing in New York City a couple of years ago. I was impressed then and I’m even more impressed now with the release of her album, ‘Open Up The Door’. Not only is she blessed with a stunning voice, she is a very capable lyric writer and musician, penning and scoring every song on her album.
A collection of songs full of soul and storytelling at its finest.
Dubbed “Reigning Queen of NYC Blues” by Big City Blues magazine, Regina performs with a band that includes New York guitarist Michael Hill, bassist Kevin Hill, William McClellan Jr on drums along with Mike Griot (bass guitar), Pete Cummings (bass guitar) and David A. Barnes (harmonica).
Life and love gave Regina more than enough inspiration to sing the blues.
If you’re ever in the New York City area, be sure to catch one of Regina’s shows, you’ll be in for a real treat. As well as her vocal talents she is also an accomplished keyboard player. In the meantime, if you can’t get to New York, you can now listen to Regina on her brilliant new album, ‘Open Up The Door’.
I know we are going to be hearing a lot more from Regina Bonelli in the future, she just has too much talent for the music world not to take note. You can find out more about Regina, performance dates etc by visiting her website here.
