King Size Slim certainly gives a king size performance when he plays the blues. This powerhouse of a one man band knows how to entertain and keep his audience hanging on every note. He builds a great rapport using funny little anecdotes between each song. I saw him live, supporting the great Shemekia Copeland at the famous 100 Club in London. He has since performed as the opening act for non other than the legendary rock band that is Queen, also in London at Westminster Hall on New Years Eve, 2014!
His musical style is heavily influenced by the Delta blues region of Mississippi. If you can’t get
to see him live, have a listen to his album, ‘Milk Drunk’, with all the compositions written by the good man himself. And there’s more good news, a second album in the pipeline. He’s a very busy man indeed, and if you’re in the UK you can catch him at one of his many shows which are listed on his website. Please go and support him, you’ll have a really great time.
