Beth Hart Union Chapel Islington
On Monday 14th, December, 2015 I was very fortunate in that I had a ticket to see Beth Hart at The Union Chapel, Islington, London. I was there early and yet the queue stretched around the block and almost back on to itself. Needless to say, the gig was sold out.
What a gig it was too, and what a lovely venue too. She was nervous when she came on, but there was no need. She has so much talent, and a beautiful soul that the audience was with her all the way. Even when she bared her soul and the tears flowed freely, the audience cried along. She sings with a voice that is sometimes full of soul, sometimes bluesy and sometimes there’s a little bit of both in there. Almost Janis Joplin sounding.
Two hours of non stop unplugged solo music by Ms Hart left the audience gagging for more. Two encores and that was it. It almost seemed a spiritual experience and of course in the venue it was in, it may well have been. I can honestly say it was the best gig I’ve been to this year. Not a dry eye in the house.
She will be doing a full UK tour in the fall of 2016 and I can’t recommend getting tickets as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed.
